James Dodd was an Irish strongman known for juggling cannonballs when he first visited Honolulu with the circus in 1867. He would return a few years later and join the police force, becoming the city’s first white captain in 1875, an office he held only shortly before setting himself up as a hotelier in 1878. He would operate the Pantheon Saloon from then until his death in 1900. Dodd’s Pantheon Saloon tokens tokens were manufactured by C.A. Klinker & Co. in San Francisco, likely around 1893. Descripción
