P. Plautius Hypsaeus. 57 BC. AR Denarius (17.5mm, 4.04 g, 6h). Rome mint. Diademed and draped bust of Leuconoë right; dolphin to left / Jupiter, holding reins and hurling thunderbolt, driving galloping quadriga left. Crawford 420/2a; Sydenham 911; Plautia 12; RBW 1515. Light iridescent toning, banker’s mark on obverse, collector’s inventory number 821 in red in margin on reverse, a few edge marks, a shallow edge test cut. Good VF. A pretty coin in hand.
