ARSE-SAGUNTO (Sagunto, Valencia). Drachm. (Ar. 2.53g / 16mm). 300-200 BC (FAB-2035). Anv: Head of Hercules diademed to the right, nailed behind. Rev: Bull charging to the right, above the shell, below the Iberian legend line: ARSGiTAR. Almost Extremely Fine. Very Rare and more like that.

The first mintings in silver coincide, from the point of view of the meter, with the Roman victory and are simultaneous to the Roman occupation itself. There are authors who do not accept this denomination, that of victoriato, as they do not have the image of victory on the reverse and classify these pieces as drachmas. In any case, these issues are prolonged in time and offer a large number of types, iconographic motifs and weights. This typology shares a homogeneous obverse, always with the head of Hercules, with or without a mace, and with a somewhat more heterogeneous reverse where the presence of a bull in different positions is always linked to marks in the shape of a star, venera, laurea or flowers of lis.
