IONIA, Miletos. Late 6th-early 5th century BC. AR Diobol (9.5mm, 1.09 g). Forepart of lion right, head reverted / Stellate design within incuse square with one side contoured in the shape of an M. SNG Kayhan 1381. Toned, slightly off center on obverse. Good VF.

Areas of light porosity or roughness, small delamination on reverse. VF.

ISLANDS off IONIA, Chios. Circa 340-300 BC. Æ (17.5mm, 3.47 g, 5h). Hermonax, magistrate. Sphinx seated left / Amphora. Mavrogordato 56α; HGC 6, 1149. Brown surfaces, overstruck on earlier issue with sphinx seated left/cross-in-wreath types (cf. HGC 1148; plainly visible on the opposite sides of this coin). VF. Mavrogordato notes two examples of this issue of Hermonax that exhibit this same overstrike.
