ASIA MINOR, Uncertain. 5th century BC. AR Obol(?) (8.5mm, 0.78 g, 7h). Bearded head of male right, wearing uncertain headdress / Forepart of bull left within incuse square. Numismatik Naumann 58, lot 113; otherwise, unpublished in the standard references. A little off center on obverse, struck with worn reverse die. VF. Extremely rare. If the obverse head is wearing a crown, it is likely a portrait of the Persian Great King.

Herakles, wearing lion skin, in fighting stance right, [holding club overhead and bow extended hand] / Lion attacking stag crouching right; [royal name above; all in dotted square within incuse square]. Cf. Zapiti & Michaelidou 5–8 and 11–2 (for type). Lightly toned, compact flan, some horn silver, struck with worn dies. Good Fine.
SELEUKIS and PIERIA, Antioch. 1st century BC. Æ Tetrachalkon (19.5mm, 7.84 g, 12h). Uncertain date. Laureate head of Zeus right / Zeus Nikephoros seated left; [uncertain date in exergue]. HGC 9, 1370; DCA 379. Dark brown patina, struck on a small flan, smoothing in fields. Near EF.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Seleukos I Nikator. Second satrapy and kingship, 312-281 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 16.71 g, 8h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Babylon I mint. Struck circa 311-300 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; monogram in wreath in left field, H below throne. SC 82.6; Price 3704; HGC 9, 10f. Toned, a few light scratches, graffito in field on reverse. Fine.

Diademed head right / Apollo, testing arrow and resting hand on grounded bow, seated left on omphalos; monograms to outer left and outer right. SC 379.3c; HGC 9, 128g. Lightly toned, scattered marks. SELEUKID EMPIRE. Demetrios I Soter. 162-150 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 16.06 g, 12h). Antioch on the Orontes mint. Dated SE 160 (153/2 BC). Diademed head right / Tyche, holding scepter and cornucopia, seated left on throne supported by tritoness right; two monograms to outer left, ΞP (date) in exergue. SC 1641.5c; HGC 9, 798; DCA 109. Flan broken and repaired, lightly toned, deposits. Good VF. SOLD AS IS, NO RETURNS.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos VI Dionysos. 144-142 BC. Æ (15mm, 2.84 g, 12h). Uncertain mint, probably in Northern Syria. Forepart of panther right / ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ/ΑΝΤΙΟΧΟΥ/ΕΠΙΦΑΝΟΥΣ/ΔΙΟΝΥΣΟΥ in four lines within ivy wreath. SC 2019; HGC 9, 1050. Earthen green surfaces. Good Fine. Rare.

Radiate head right / Tyche standing left, placing hand on grounded rudder and cradling cornucopia; monogram to left; all within wreath. A. SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes (Grypos). 121/0-97/6 BC. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 16.24 g, 1h). Antioch on the Orontes mint. Struck 121/0-113 BC. Diademed head right / Zeus Ouranios standing left; to outer left, IE above A; all within wreath with Δ on ties. SC 2298.1a; HGC 9, 1197e. A few light scratches. Good VF.
PHOENICIA, Arados. Circa 172/1-111/0 BC. AR Drachm (19mm, 3.81 g, 12h). Dated CY 97 (167/6 BC). Phoenician galley left before city wall with three towers; [in exergue, lion couchant left] / King of Persia standing right, drawing bow, quiver over shoulder; [to left, incuse head of satyr left]; to right, incuse head of goat right; all within incuse square.
