Prudentia standing left, holding mirror into which she looks and sash tied to wrist of blindfolded female figure with multiple breasts standing behind facing on globe and holding palm frond and cornucopia set on ground with flowers around; banner inscribed PROSPICE DVM PROSPERA above; to left at feet of Prudentia, rocky coast with (RI); in background to left, galley about to be driven against rocky coast in storm / Urn inscribed P.M./GERARDI /VAN DER/LYNDEN/(retrograde C)ICI(retrograde C)LXXVII, the whole encircled by ouroboros and set on base behind veiled van der Lynden coat-of-arms over crossed extinguished torches; veil held by two putti, one weeping, the other seated right on monument, holding braches of laurel, as well, and clutching broken column; smoking lamp, caduceus, and laureate skull and bones scattered around; below, banner incribed Ætat LXXIX; adittional funerary monuments to left and right; cypress grove in background.
