Laureate head of Zeus left / Pan seated left on rock, holding lagobolon and raising hand; APK monogram to left, Δ to right, syrinx below. Baldwin, December 1990.According to the BCD ticket, this coin was discovered by a metal dectorist in Essex, England. While it is surprising to find such a coin there, one wonders whether it was an ancient deposit, or the result of an unfortunate loss by a local who had recently been to Greece?
