BOEOTIA, Thebes. Circa 425-395 BC. AR Stater (20mm, 12.12 g). Boeotian shield / Bearded head of Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath; Θ/E downward to left; all within shallow incuse square. BCD Boiotia 436 var. (club on obv.); Myron Hoard pl. A, 35 var. (same); HGC 4, 1326; CNG E-166, lot 37 (same rev. die). Faintly toned, tiny flan flaw on obverse. Near EF. Well struck on a broad flan.
