Trent Jonson studied this same example in his “Numismatic Early Islamic” (page 181 and ff) and suggested that the indiction was XIII, with a last digit obliterated, and that the margin legend corresponded to that of the African series: INN¡NIM]RC](()¡FERTINAF. However, the star on the obverse clearly indicates its Spanish minting; it is, therefore, a unique and extraordinarily interesting example. Extremely rare. 4,20 g. MBC.
