Al mismo tiempo que Didius Julianus fue reconocido como emperador por el Senado, a su esposa e hija se les concedió el título de Augusta - en ese momento un hecho inusual al comienzo de un reinado. Se sabe muy poco sobre estas damas imperiales. S.W. At the same time that Didius Julianus was recognized as emperor by the Senate, his wife and daughter were granted the title of Augustus - at that time an unusual event at the beginning of a reign. Very little is known about these imperial ladies. S.W. Stevenson, the famous 19th century antiquarian, described Scantilla as "the most deformed of women", while it is well known that his daughter, Didia Clara, was thought to be perhaps the most beautiful young woman in Rome. Scantilla's coin, though very rare, was issued in all three major metals, and all his coins bear the same type of reverse that honors Juno as queen of the Roman pantheon. Description
