Muy rara, más en esta conservación.Este denario fue acuñado poco antes de los fatales idus de marzo. El retrato de César se representa en un estilo verista, pero su cabeza aparece velada para enfatizar el carácter sagrado del dictador -ahora con poder vitalicio, como indica la leyenda DICT PERPETVO-. El elemento del velo alude de nuevo a su condición de miembro del colegio de augures. Según la costumbre religiosa romana, los augures se cubrían la cabeza con un velo mientras adivinaban la voluntad de los dioses observando el vuelo de las aves en el aire o sus movimientos en el suelo.
