From the Wild Rose Collection.The boy king Ptolemy V was the only Ptolemaic ruler, other than the first, to strike coins with his own portrait in significant numbers. Following his reign, subsequent Ptolemaic rulers reverted to the practice of depicting Ptolemy I Soter on their silver coinage, with a very few exceptions.
