KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25.5mm, 17.15 g, 11h). Tarsos mint, "officina B". Struck under Balakros or Menes, circa 333-327 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; no control marks. Price 2999; Newell, Tarsos, Series I, Group 1, 2, obv. die unlisted. Toned, some find patina remaining, a little die wear, edge marks from prior bezel. Good VF. Fine style. Ex Peus 393 (31 October 2007), lot 207 (erroneously as Price 2991).
