Dated AH 163 (AD 779/80). bismillah kharaj sanat thalath wa sittin wa mi'at around Qurus / al-Awwal in center. Cf Stephen Album Rare Coins 40 (13 May 2021), lot 294 for a comparable seal from Ma'arra. Good VF. Rare. This is a tax seal, confirming the payment of taxes at Qurus (the ancient Cyrrus, founded by Seleucus Nicator). The addition of al-Awwal, 'the first', probably means that these were taxes paid for the first part of the year.
