Sasanian bust with al-Hajjaj / ibn Yusuf in two lines before; shahada arranged radially in margin / Fire-altar with attendants, duriba sanat / sitt wa saba'in to right and left; uncertain legend in margin. Gyselen -; Malek, Arab-Sasanian -; Album A37 var. (without date). Rough surfaces, scratch on reverse. Fine. Excessively rare, . On this remarkable pashiz, the mint and date are engraved in Arabic rather than Pahlawi. The only silver drachms of al-Hajjaj to bear an Arabic date legend were also struck in the year AH 76, issued at the mint of al-Mada'in.
