Diademed head right / Elephant standing right; monogram to right. SC 1065.6; Houghton, Elephants, Type B, obv. die a1; HGC 9, 453a. Lightly toned, minor doubling on reverse. Good VF.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos, son of Seleukos IV. 175 BC. AR Tetradrachm (27.5mm, 15.48 g, 12h). Antioch in Persis mint. Diademed head right / Apollo, testing arrow and resting hand on grounded bow, seated left on omphalos; monograms to outer left and outer right. SC 1372 corr. (outer left monogram); HGC 9, 610c. Areas of roughness, porosity, deposits, some smoothing. Near VF. Very rare.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos IV Epiphanes. 175-164 BC. AR Tetradrachm (33mm, 15.79 g, 12h). Antioch on the Orontes mint. Struck circa 168-164 BC. Diademed head right / Zeus Nikephoros seated left; [monogram to outer left]. SC 1400d; Le Rider, Antioche, obv. die A31; HGC 9, 620a. Flan cracks, slight bend in flan, deposits, cleaning scratches, small scuff on edge. Good Fine.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos VIII Epiphanes (Grypos). 121/0-97/6 BC. AR Tetradrachm (25.5mm, 14.56 g, 12h). Antioch on the Orontes mint. Third reign at Antioch, circa 109-96 BC. Diademed head right / Zeus Nikephoros seated left, pellet within wreath of Nike; to outer left, monogram above A; monogram below throne; all within laurel wreath. SC 2309.1b; HGC 9, 1200. Bright surfaces, overcleaned, traces of find patina, a few light scratches, tiny flan flaws on reverse. VF.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Antiochos X Eusebes Philopator. Circa 94-88 BC. AR Tetradrachm (26.5mm, 16.10 g, 12h). Antioch on the Orontes mint. Diademed head right, with no sideburn / Zeus Nikephoros seated left, holding scepter; monogram above A to outer left, monogram below throne; all within wreath. SC 2429.1c; HGC 9, 1287 corr. (without sideburn). Toned, some deposits, die break and scratches on obverse. VF. Ex Harald Wischmann Collection (Oslo Mynthandel 34, 7 October 1994), lot 929.
SELEUKID EMPIRE. Philip I Philadelphos. Circa 95/4-76/5 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29mm, 16.01 g, 12h). Uncertain mint 127 in Cilicia, probably Tarsos. Struck 94/3-88/7 BC. Diademed head right / Zeus Nikephoros seated left; to outer left, N above A; monogram below throne; all within wreath. SC 2460a; HGC 9, 1316. Area of weak strike on obverse, stress cracks on reverse. Good VF.
PHOENICIA, Arados. Circa 138/7-44/3 BC. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 15.03 g, 12h). Dated CY 163 (97/6 BC). Turreted, veiled, and draped bust of Tyche right / Nike standing left, holding aphlaston and palm frond; ΓΞP (date), Phoenician Q, and MC to left; all within wreath. Duyrat 3239–48 var. (unlisted obv. die); DCA 772; HGC 10, 72. Toned, some marks and large delamination on obverse. VF. PHOENICIA, Arados. Circa 138/7-44/3 BC. AR Tetradrachm (32mm, 15.16 g, 12h). Dated CY 173 (87/6 BC). Veiled, draped, and turreted bust of Tyche right / Nike advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond; in left field, ΓOP (date) above Phoenician A above MΣ; all within wreath. Duyrat 3447–59 (obv. die D64); HGC 10, 72; DCA 772. Light golden hues around the devices, flan crack. VF. Struck on a broad flan. Purchased by the consignor from Brian Kritt, 20 June 1992.

Rough earthen black surfaces, a little off center on reverse. VF.
PHILISTIA (PALESTINE), Gaza ('Azah). Mid 5th century-333 BC. AR Obol (7mm, 0.74 g, 2h). Janiform head / Forepart of horse right; 'Z (in Aramaic) to upper left; all in linear square within incuse square. Gitler & Tal VI.7O; HGC 10, 566. Trace deposits, off center on obverse. Good VF.
PHILISTIA (PALESTINE), Uncertain mint. Mid 5th century-333 BC. AR Didrachm (15.5mm, 6.77 g, 12h). Bearded head of male right / Owl standing right, head facing; [olive spray] and crescent to left; all within incuse square. Unpublished in the standard references. Toned, crude strike, porosity. Fine. Extremely rare.
NABATAEA. Malichos I. Circa 59/8-30 BC. Æ (15mm, 1.46 g, 12h). Petra mint. Uncertain date. Diademed head right / Palm of hand; [date in field]. Cf. CN 11, 14, and 19 for type. Rough earthen dark brown patina, some scratches on obverse. Good Fine.
NABATAEA. Obodas II(?). Circa 30-9 BC. AR Half Shekel (18.5mm, 4.76 g, 12h). Pre-reform coinage. Petra mint. Uncertain date. Diademed head right / Eagle standing left on thunderbolt; unclear date across central field. Cf. CN 21 for similar style. Toned, rough surfaces, crude strike. Fair. The name and date are both unclear on the reverse, but the style of the obverse portrait is most similar to the examples of CN Type 21. However, this coin could also be an issue struck under Malichos I.
