Kanishka, diademed and crowned, standing facing, head left, holding goad and scepter, sacrificing over altar to left; flame at shoulder / HΛIOC to right, radiate and diademed Helios, left hand on hip, standing left, raising right hand in benediction; tamgha to left. MK 766; ANS Kushan 391-402; Donum Burns 143-5. Dark green patina, some earthen deposits and hard green, light peripheral weakness. VF. Rare.
INDIA, Kushan Empire. Huvishka. Circa AD 152-192. CU Tetradrachm (24mm, 16.44 g, 12h). Main mint in Kapisha (Begram?). Early phase. Huvishka seated facing cross-legged, holding ankuśa (elephant goad) or sword and scepter; trace of clouds below / Mao standing left, extending hand in benediction and holding hilt of sword; tamgha to left. MK 837; ANS Kushan 939-44; Donum Burns 326-9. Brown patina with earthen and green deposits, cleaning marks. Near VF.

Bust right, wearing eagle crown with korymbos; taurus symbol on korymbos / Fire altar with ribbon and bust facing in flames; flanked by two attendants, the left wearing winged crown with korymbos, the other wearing mural crown; taurus symbol to right of flames. SNS type I(1)/1ab(1a) and pl. 7, 28. Find patins, some porosity. Good VF.

Bust right, wearing crown with arcades, three foliate branches, and korymbos; hair in single group / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants, both wearing mural crowns, the left with korymbos; fravahr and taurus symbol flanking flames. SNS type Ia (?)/2a (5); Sunrise –. Traces of deposits, some cleaning marks and tooling. VF.

Bust right [on floral ornament], wearing mural crown with frontal crescent and korymbos / Fire altar with ribbons; flanked by two attendants; traces of l'st in Pahlavi on altar shaft. SNS type Ib1/1a, Var. 4 and pl. 56, 77 = Berlin, 1876 Guthrie; Sunrise –. Toned, clipped down to below the weight of a hemidrachm. VF. Very rare. Though this piece at first glance appears to have been simply modified for use in jewelry, the presence of a very similarly reduced weight coin in the Berlin collection suggests that this is not a one off oddity.
