Head of nymph left, hair in sakkos / Sea-eagle on dolphin left; ΘEOTI below wings. RG 34; HGC 7, 399. Scattered marks, a little porosity, patch of encrustation at edge on reverse. Good VF.

MYSIA, Pergamon. Circa 166-67 BC. AR Drachm (17mm, 2.66 g, 6h). Cistophoric type. Struck circa 135-128 BC. Lion's skin draped over club, all within ivy wreath / Grape bunch on vine; uncertain monogram above, civic monogram to left, serpent-entwined staff to right. Cf. Kleiner & Noe series 27 (tetradrachm); Kleiner, Hoard 1-20 (same); cf. SNG BN 1758 (didrachm). Roughness, patches of find patina, cleaning scratches. Near Fine. Extremely rare. A denomination wholly absent from Kleiner & Noe for Pergamum (where only three didrachm issues are recorded). Kleiner also records very few drachms after 128, in ANSMN 23. Only one cistophoric drachm is recorded in CoinArchives for Pergamon, a very rare coin.

Kleiner, Hoard 38; SNG BN 1741. Lightly toned, a little off center on obverse, area of roughness on reverse. Good VF.

Laureate head of Philetairos right / Athena enthroned left, resting on shield to right, crowning dynastic name to left; transverse spear in background, filleted thyrsos to outer left, AΣ to inner left, bow to right. Diademed head of the deified Alexander right, with horn of Ammon / Athena Nikephoros seated left, left arm resting on shield, transverse spear in background; monogram to inner left; in exergue, eagle standing right within ethnic. Gorny & Mosch 207, lot 126 (same dies); otherwise, unpublished in the standard references. Toned, roughness, scratches. Near VF. Extremely rare.
