KINGS of CHARACENE. Theonesios I. Circa 25-19/18 BC. BI Tetradrachm (29mm, 13.05 g, 12h). Charax-Spasinu mint. Dated 288 SE (25/4 BC). Diademed head right / Herakles seated left, holding club on knee; monogram above arm, Θ below, HΠΣ (date) in exergue. Nicolet-Pierre, Theonèsis –, but cf. pl. IV, 19-20 (for type); Alram –; De Morgan –; BMC –; Sunrise –; Zeno 23346 = Triton X, lot 443 = DCA 486 illustration. Find patina with light earthen deposits, slight double strike on reverse. Good VF.
