Bareheaded, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing on serpent-entwined torch right, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; between legs, bull's head right. Prieur 1680; Sofaer –. Near VF, metal flaws, a few light scratches. Struck from a worn reverse die. Extremely rare, only three noted by Prieur, and two in CoinArchives.
MESOPOTAMIA, Rhesaena. Severus Alexander. AD 222-235. Æ (24.5mm, 10.10 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Tyche seated left on rocks, holding eagle, with head right and wings spread, in her extended right hand; below, [river god swimming left]. Cf. Castelin 35-40. Near VF, dark green patina with traces of red, struck off center.

Good VF, toned, a few spots of verdigris.

Good VF, reddish-brown patina with touches of green, smoothed in fields. Extremely rare, none in CoinArchives for this regnal year.

Crawford 90/2 = Crawford, Early 190; cf. Schaefer & Friedman Fig. 24; cf. Sydenham 83; RSC –; RBW –. Good VF, lustrous, edge split. This appears to be an unpublished variety of Crawford 90/2, with legs supporting the base of the trophy.
