Fine style.The portrait on this Carthaginian bronze of Spain is of exceptional interest because of the direct parallel it offers to the portrait on silver didrachms struck by the Epirote king Pyrrhus during his campaign in southern Italy (K. Rutter, Greek Coinages of Southern Italy and Sicily, no. 98; BMC Thessaly pl. XX, 11). They compare so favorably in both style and content that either one was inspired by the other, or, more likely, they share the same sculptural prototype.

BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. AR Nomos (25mm, 7.91 g, 12h). Tripod, legs terminating in lion's feet; to right, heron standing left / Incuse tripod; in relief to right, heron standing left. VF, toned, struck from a worn obverse die, some horn silver on reverse, a few light marks. Eagle, wings spread, standing right on, and tearing at, dead hare / Crab; below, three pellets (mark of value) above crawfish left. Westermark, Coinage, Series C; CNS 53; HGC 2, 140. VF, green patina, compact flan, cleaning marks, a hint of tooling on obverse.
SICILY, Akragas. Punic occupation. Circa 405–392 BC. Countermark on uncertain Æ Hemilitron (27mm, 13.30 g). Uncertain type, c/m: head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin, within incuse circle / Uncertain type. Westermark, Coinage, p. 166; CNS 92 CM. Host coin poor; countermark VF, dark green patina, some roughness.The types here are completely obliterated, but this countermark is typically found on the eagle/crab hemilitra of Akragas. Westermark's new die study of the early coins of Akragas confirm an earlier suggestion by Consolo Langher that this countermark was applied to coins during the circa 405-392 BC Punic domination of the city.
