ΛVNI[...]IITИ(retrograde D)VVCVVC, laureate, helmeted, and cuirassed bust right / Legend in four lines consisting mostly of annulets and quadrates; crosses appear in the third line, and the fourth line is a blundered mintmark; all within wreath with large central jewel. Laureate head of Zeus facing slightly right; vertical thunderbolt to right / MOΨ–EI–ΩN, the Lapith Mopsos, nude, standing facing, head right, about to strike with club a centaur rearing left, holding above head a boulder which he is about to hurl. He was gifted with the power to understand the speech of birds, and traveled with Jason and the Argonauts as their seer. Mopsos met his death in Libya when he was bitten by a poisonous serpent that had sprung from the blood of Medusa's head.
