MYSIA, Kyzikos. Circa 550-450 BC. EL Stater (19.5mm, 15.97 g). Double-bodied sphinx with one head facing, wearing ouraios; both atop tunny / Quadripartite incuse square. Cf. Von Fritze I 128 (unlisted denomination); Triton XX, lot 224; CNG 106, lot 307; CNG 105, lot 166; CNG E-398, lot 149; otherwise unpublished in the standard references. VF. Very rare as a stater, only nine in CoinArchives.
