Andronicus II Palaeologus, with Michael IX. 1282-1328. AV Hyperpyron Nomisma (24.1mm, 4.01 g, 6h). Class IIb. Constantinople mint. Struck circa 1303-1320 or later. Half-length figure of the Theotokos, orans, within city walls with four towers; uncertain sigla / Christ standing facing, crowning Michael and Andronicus kneeling to left and right, respectively. Cf. DOC 350-2 (for type); PCPC 128 var. (Andronicus & Michael transposed; uncertain sigla); SB 2396 var. (same). VF, flatly struck in areas. Crudely made as usual.
