TUDOR. Mary. 1553-1554. Cast Æ Medal (36x39.5mm, 21.15 g). By Stuart or G. D. Gaab (after J. Jonghelinck). Later issue, struck circa 1750 (possibly commemorating the bicentennial of her marriage). The original having been commissioned to Jacopo da Trezzo, a smaller marriage medal modeled after this was contemporaneously done by Jacques Jonghelink, who would serve as a seal-cutter in the early court of Philip II.
