Stylized head of Dionysos right, wearing ivy wreath; schematic style / Stylized Herakles standing left, head right, holding club, lion skin draped over arm; X to inner left, legend degraded. OTA Class III; cf. Lukanc 1206 (same obv. die). Fine, toned, some porosity, test punch on reverse.

Head of Juno Sospita right, wearing goat's skin headdress; branch to left / Female standing left, feeding serpent; to right, four small pellets around large pellet; pseudo-legend in exergue. Fine, rough red patina worn at high points.

Kritt B16; Bopearachchi 14A = SNG ANS 139 = HGC 12, 49 (same dies); Bopearachchi & Rahman –; M&M FPL 395 (Nov./Dec. 1977), no. 82 (same dies); CNG 82, lot 772 (same dies). Near VF, lightly toned, rough. Extremely rare, one of four known from this die pair.

Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right, wearing crested helmet covered with pelt of scales / (quadrate C)YИΛT(quadrate O)Y doyn left IΛΣIΛEΣ down right, Herakles standing facing, crowning himself, and holding club and lion skin. Cf. Bopearchchi Série 3 and 4 (Heliokles; for obv. type) and Série 3 (Demetrios I; for rev. type); cf. HGC 12, 172 and 65 (same); otherwise unpublished. VF, toned, small edge split and lamination.

BAKTRIA, Indo-Greek Kingdom. Menander I Soter. Circa 155-130 BC. Æ Quadruple Unit (21mm, 8.52 g, 12h). Diademed head of Herakles right / Spread lion pelt; Γ below. Cf. Bopearachchi 35 (for type); cf. HGC 12, 208 (same); CNG E-326, lot 227. VF, dusty green patina. Extremely rare, one of two known to have appeared at auction in recent years.Citing a specimen in the BM, Bopearachchi notes only one example of this type, which has a monogram in the right field. However, the BM coin, which he uses for illustration, shows that, in addition to the monogram, there is a Γ below the lion's pelt.

Near VF, some find patina, rough. Very rare.

Zeus enthroned slightly left, extending hand / Man seated right on low rocky surface, warming hands over small fire, cradling branch in left arm; container at feet, monogram to left. Artemis standing facing, drawing arrow from quiver / Goddess standing left, holding a flower and palm; monogram to left. Bopearachchi Série 2 (monogram unlisted); HGC 12, 430; CNG E-330, lot 151 var. (monogram). VF, dark green patina, some roughness. Unpublished monogram of a very rare type for this ruler.
