Helmeted head of Athena right; without any symbols behind her head or on helmet / Nike in biga galloping left, holding kentron and reins. Sambon 889 var. (head of Athena left); HN Italy 434; SNG France –; SNG ANS –. VF, lightly toned. Great metal, rare variety without any obverse symbols.
CAMPANIA, Cales. Circa 265-240 BC. Æ (20mm, 6.67 g, 8h). Helmeted head of Athena left / Cock standing right; star to upper left. Sambon 916c; HN Italy 435; SNG France 433-45. VF, dark green patina, a few light scratches.
CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 280-272 BC. AR Nomos (21mm, 6.54 g, 3h). Time of Pyrrhos of Epiros. Warrior on horseback right, holding shield and spears, preparing to cast spear downward; EΥ behind, [ΣΩΣΤΡΑΤΟΣ below] / Phalanthos on dolphin left, holding Nike and cornucopia; thunderbolt behind, [Π]ΟΛΥ before. Vlasto 713-9; HN Italy 1001. Good VF, toned, some minor porosity.
CALABRIA, Tarentum. Circa 280-272 BC. AR Nomos (23mm, 6.28 g, 3h). Youth on horseback right, crowning self; ΣΩ to left, ΞAΛO and Ionic capital below / Phalanthos riding dolphin left, holding aphlaston and distaff; ANO to right. Vlasto 803-7; HN Italy 1014; SNG ANS 1142-50. VF, toned, a few areas of minor porosity. Well centered and struck on a full flan.
LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 340-330 BC. AR Nomos (22mm, 7.91 g, 4h). Helmeted head of Leukippos right; seated dog behind, Σ below neck truncation / Barley ear with leaf to right; bird above leaf, AMI below. Johnson Class B, 3.20 = SNG ANS 445 (same reverse die); HN Italy 1576. VF, lightly toned.
LUCANIA, Metapontion. Circa 330-290 BC. AR Nomos (20mm, 7.74 g, 5h). Head of Demeter left, wearing wreath of grain ears, triple-pendant earring, and necklace; ∆E[X] (retrograde) below chin / Barley grain with leaf to left; lit altar above leaf. Johnston Class C, 10.4 = SNG ANS 503 (same dies); HN Italy 1593. Near EF, deeply toned, some redeposited silver beneath the tone. Rare.
LUCANIA, Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Fourrée Nomos (23mm, 7.19 g, 1h). Theta Group. Head of Athena right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with griffin; Θ behind / Lion walking right; Θ below. Williams 291 (O162/R225); HN Italy 1287. Good VF, iridescent toning, flan crack, plating broken in several places on the obverse.Ex Coin Galleries (18 December 2007), lot 34.

BRUTTIUM, The Brettii. Circa 211-208 BC. Æ Unit – Drachm (23mm, 6.61 g, 8h). Fourth coinage, "Thunderbolt" group. Laureate head of Zeus right; thunderbolt to left / Warrior advancing right, holding shield and spear; to right at his feet, owl flying right. Scheu, Bronze 44; HN Italy 1988. VF, reddish-brown and green patina, some roughness.
BRUTTIUM, Kroton. Circa 530-500 BC. AR Nomos (28mm, 6.69 g, 12h). Spread incuse type. Tripod, legs terminating in lion's feet, serpents rising from bowl / Incuse tripod as obverse. HN Italy 2075; SNG ANS 233. Near VF, lightly toned, porous.

SICILY, Akragas. Circa 211 BC. Fourrée ½ Shekel or Drachm (19mm, 3.37 g, 11h). Laureate head of Zeus right; ΦI to left / Eagle, wings open, standing left on thunderbolt; TΦΞ(or I) to left. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin; EK ΚΕΦΑΛΟΙΔΙ-[O]N to right and below / Bull butting right on tablet; AK monogram and [ΗΡ]ΑΚΛ[ΕΙΩ]ΤΑΝ above. SICILY, Selinos. Circa 410 BC. AR Hemidrachm (15mm, 1.34 g, 1h). Head of Herakles right, wearing lion-skin / Charioteer, holding kentron in extended right hand and reins in left, driving galloping quadriga left; selinon leaf above. SNG Copenhagen 605; HGC 2, 1227. Near VF, toned, porous, edge chips.
SICILY, Syracuse. Pyrrhos. 278-276 BC. Æ (23mm, 9.59 g, 5h). Head of Herakles left, wearing lion-skin / Athena Promachos advancing right, holding thunderbolt and shield; owl standing right before her. CNS 176; BAR Issue 52; HGC 2, 1451. VF, dark green patina, flaking in a few spots, a few pits, head of owl barely visible.
