Taifa unidentified. Al-Hadjib Khalid. Fraction of dinar without marginal legends. (V. 1385) (Prieto 433b). Obv.: mj?z. Rev.: %3#8v! / @v#;. The Muwafaq that appears in the lower line of the obverse also appears in all the known pieces of Yahya al-Mansur of Badajoz, it can be assumed that the unknown Khalid who minted this piece must have had some relation with that Taifa. Very rare. 0,70 g. MBC.

Almoravids. AH 484. Yusuf ibn Tashfin. Sabta (Ceuta). Dinar. (V. 1464) (Hazard 73) ("Ceuta musulmana" 156, same example). Almoravids. AH 493. Yusuf ibn Tashfin. Qurtuba (Córdoba). Dinar. Unprecedented. Neither Vives nor Hazard record a Cordoban dinar of this year, in both catalogs there is a hiatus between AH 492 and 496. But an even more extraordinary detail of this piece is its date: "fi Shawal sanata..." (in [the month of] Shawal of the year...). Curiously, the very rare known cases that cite the mint month are also found in Cordoba and within this three-year period with no "normal" examples in the catalogs. Extremely rare. 4,11 g. EBC.*This item cannot be exported (it has been declared BIC).
